I've heard that the 85-86 250R axle bolts right up to the 230 swingarm, so you might want to try that then extend your 230 swingarm. A few people have done that on here.
Also. be cautious on the 250R a-arms, I don't think they're that much wider than the 230's, the 250R's frame is just a lot wider. Might be less work and more rewarding to extend your 230 arms.
Many of the LT250S parts bolt right up to the 230 but they're extremely hard to find. The 250S was the model made for 2 years after the 230.
In one lt230sman's threads, he put 250R shocks on his 230 and liked them a lot, you might want to check that out too.

Good gracious! Why would you want 25" tires?? That would be amazingly tall and tippy! If you're worried about ground clearance, make or get some skid plates before you do 25" tires!

Help fast
Hi If any body out there know how long are the shocks from the 230s it would be helpfull.
I am looking at a cheap set of shocks from the Yamaha 660. It looks like the back should be ok i am just not sure about the fron shocks.
Thanks Brian

Nick, you should check out 86qscamo's thread "swingarm swap." I believe he's trying to put a 250R swinger on his 230 as well.

im not really worried about ground clearance, i just found a really good deal on 4 25 inch tires on cragslist. so your saying it would be rediculous and not worth it? or would i just be sacrificing a little bit of handling?
