By moving the clip you mean bending the wire that goes over the arm on the float correct? Whats that metal piece that bolts under the float and extends into the bowl?

Is there a way to access the mag and adjust it or is it all fixed timing?

I should mention that I am getting some backfiring out the exhaust, and an occational pop out the carb.

No, the needle clip. The metering rod clip. Its in the slide.

Timing is fixed.

Yep thats what mine looks like. I'll try the plug, and see about adjusting the metering rod. Does it just push/pull in or out farther?

The clip holds the needle in place? Do you just push or pull on the clip to move the needle higher or lower?
