Impact gun should be able to zip that off. Looks to me you remove that bolt, and the rest of the assembly will come off whatever shaft is in behind it (that the bolt in the middle is attached to).

So, I just wanted to make a little post. I got my 230 running okay I guess. It wont maintain an idle. Its very irratic. Like, sometimes it dies out, then it will idle super high, then go down, then up, eventually die-ing out. It snaps alot out the pipe too. I totally rebuilt the carb (twice accually, I power cleaned it the second time, looks new inside). The engine is in good shape, it starts first kick. It just doesnt seem to want to idle properly. I havent driven it in the top end so I dont know, but when I engage gear and move it about 10 feet under a little load, its fine. I think its a low speed circuit problem, but its not like the manual tells you how to fix it, only how it works.

Its threaded into the cam shaft. I'm sure I could get it off, but I just wanted to see if anyone knew anything special.

Hmm it sounds fuel related. Maybe something with the floats?

I can't remember....are they even adjustable? I know stock 230s didn't have a reservoir of any type so if there's any adjustablility its in preload.

Unfortunately there's nothing out there like this. DG makes the only set of nerf bars that I know of, and they're flat and kinda shotty (see my problems in the Vault). They look good though and they're steel so you could weld some heal pockets on yourself if you'd like.

I think you can only adjust preload by the two nuts with teeth on them at the top of the spring.
