Chris, did you try adjusting the carb. Correct me if I'm wrong, I don't have the manual handy, but you turn it in just before it gets too tight so you dont damage the carb and then its aprox. two turns out, give or take 0.5 turns.

SeanBean, I am putting an lt250r carb on myself this friday if I have time to pick it up. I'm getting it for $5, plus the foot break and and air cleaner pipe. Its a 32mm or34mm. I did a big bore kit with 40 over a couple months ago so the new carb should give it an extra kick. I have heard that 34mm is your best bet, but 32mm is just as good.

it also sounds like an improper fuel mixture, or maybe at the worst the engine is out of time.

are you sure that a 250r carb is compatible? it is a 2 stroke carb and an lt230s is a 4 stroke. not to mention the intake boot is different too.

oh and the 250r axle will give you an extra 1.5 inch on each side wider wheel base.

I might pick up a new rear axle off of one then if I can find one cheap. I'm going to need new bearings anyways in about 4 months, so if I am taking off the axle, probably should upgrade.
