Is the battery staying charged? If the charging system is not working, it would not be putting more juice to the battery at higher RPMs......
The battery will not hold a charge, i charged it for a good 10 hours when i got the quad and it cranked the engine for maybe 6 seconds then died.. so i have it disconnected and removed.. I think i'm gonna get my test light and my volt meter out and see what i can do.. the battery being dead shouldn't effect the operation of the headlight i believe.. but i could be wrong..

i had the same problem with a truck i had. sounds like a voltage regulator problem or the charging system has shorted out in some way.

Default oh happy days

just talked to a machinist with a 86 230s basket case, new rims, new tires, sand paddles, new supertrapp exhaust, new renthal handlebars, he bought a new swingarm and lengthened it 2 inches, said he fabricated new a arms but still need welded tgether, he also drilled the rotors, and a few other custom mods, the best part is that my purchase price is $150.00.
so does that mean that if I rebuld this one like the one I own now i will have a collection?
o happy days.

the engine is gonna need a new piston and the jug bored he said, and I'm gonna need a new rear wheel hub, he said that he started a fabrication project on one and it won't be usable anymore, I asked why he was selling and he said that after having his neck broken in an accident, he can't ride anymore and just wants it all out of his garage.

The seller said that he was building it to keep up with the newer quads on the track befor he had his accident, he hasn't touched it since.

i went down to a parts yard to pick up a wrecked cb650 and looked around for light switches, bars, and other things for my build and found nothing. good news is, last time i was at little sahara, i watched a guy cut off his brand new muffler off his 450 honda and trash it. that little jewel is sitting on a shelf at home so i may look into using it. the front end is all torn down and ive sanded the front half of the frame so painting is almost ready to be done.
