Yeah it's a good idea to check the pick-up screen on any 230. Removed mine the other day and found some neat surprises. piston skirt pieces and pieces from a broken side cover (both broken from previous owner). I'm pretty pissed off that i rode it that way. I had to have had low oil pressure at higher rpm due insufficient oil flow. I'm gonna have to check some clearances to make sure things are ok. I really wish I would have checked it when i bought the machine.

my oil drained fine and there was 4 aluminum pieces in the pick-up. one quarter size and the others were about dime sized. I would do it if i were you. unless you have been the only one to work on your machine and know that there is no gasket material or any foreign material in the oil that would clog your pick-up.

here is a few pics of my flooded trails and my 110 foot horse shoe hill climb and my 130 foot horse shoe. i could only get a pic of the one lane on the 130 footer. the race track that my friends and i built is submerged under 10ft of water so i had to ride the side of the hill to get the pic. more will be in my album section when i get the rest of the pics.

no theres no water skimming goin on here. almost lost my 230 in the flood water. the horse shoes are alot steeper than they appear. i cant remember what degree they are. but i know you cant walk up them and with snow on the ground they are impossible to climb on a 230. the pic of the complete shoe i climbed it today and after all the stupid rain we got. it was pretty greasey all the way up. i usaully use 3rd or fourth gear wide open just to climb it and a 50 foot run to get the speed up. not the case today. 20 foot run and 2nd gear. about 3/4 way up there is a single whoop that launches you airborne while you're going uphill. its a rush once you get use to it.

the other horse shoe that is 130 ft you need about 150 feet just to have enough speed to make it. if you're not at the right rpm or path its a long roll to the bottom. broke 3 ribs learning that lesson and lost a set of handle bars.

Ok so after putting the rear shock on the back of the quad sits a little higher than it used to...I like the way it looks and it feels stable enough but is it gonna put any extra stress on the swingarm pivot?
