DSengineer, is the 50 you're refering to the same one in your bio? If so that is a two stroke. Which means you can do head work to that bike. I believe CT Racing still has upgrade kits for that style 50. I don't know if the CDI box will work with that one. Atleast not the ones we've been refering to in this post.

No my son has a 2006 LTZ50 four stroke. The pic of the old LT50 two stroke belongs to my cousin

I got mine from rite brakes off of ebay for 172.00. Give them a call and they will put it up there for you. That is the cheapest I was able to find. you can get the phone number off their ebay store. Just do a search for suzuki cdi units and look the number up that way.

Thanks I've got their number and will give them a call.

I also wanted to let everyone know I saw a nice little kids chinese quad this weekend that really moves. They guy was in our camp with two of them for his boys. He's had some issues with keeping the chain properly adjusted but he said the motor runs well. Its not much bigger physically than my sons 50 but it actually has some go. And for the price I could have bought four of them for the price I paid for this ONE turd of a quad LTZ50 I think when my son outgrows this 50 I will look at picking one of these up and give em a try.

hey everyone i finally found a forum where other people are actually working these quads up like me.........i just spent about an hour reading all the way through......... i have nothing really new to add performance wise that hasnt already been talked about, but alittle off topic if your looking for a decent tire go to the dealer and order tires for the 06/07 polaris predator 50.... the fronts are 16 x 6.5 -7 and the rears are 16 x 8 -7 they kinda look like holeshots.....big improvement over the knobbys
one more thing you can widen the ltz pretty cheap, the offset on the wheels are different .......so take the left rear and put it on the left front..... right rear on right front, now because the tires are directional take the tire that was on the left front put on right rear valve stem facing in and the tire that was on the right front put it on the left rear valve stem facing in..................this will make the front 33 inches wide and keep the rear the stock 30 inches and then you can buy 1.5 in spacers of ebay i bought mine for like 25.00....... this make a world of difference in the looks dept. and in handling
----------------------------------------
1989 honda trx250r........to much time and $$$$$$ invested.....only honda parts remaining frame and case...my baby
2006 suzuki ltz50
2008 ktm 525-----in the future

I've done the front to rear tire swap to widen the front end. Highly recommend!!
