I just double checked the link for Sprocket Specialist that I posted earlier on this page. That link is for LT 50 with model years through 04. I know they make sprockets for our machine. I would be sure to verify with customer service before ordering. I would hate for someone to have trouble over my bad link.

EagerJeeper,
I noticed that and was going to call and verify...need to order a sprocket for my DS too...blew a chain on it over the weekend..and wasted a sprocket...
I tore into the LTZ again tonight...in my ever quest for more power...found that the needle has only one groove...so i couldn't play with the needle....also looked for the infamous plug under the idle jet...nothing there...checked the sparkplug...looked lean...so i bumped the main back up to a 77.5...and played with the the air/fuel screw...still seems to act the same....
If i hold the front brake and give full throttle(with out sitting on it)it will start spinning the tires on concrete..kinda cool....
Looks like the stock rear sprocket is a 37 tooth...48 is quite the jump anybody tried anything else besides the 43 or 48?

Hey when you guys are ajusting the air/fuel screw..are you letting the tires spin?..or just doing under load with the brake on?...i was jacking mine up with the wheels off the ground and lettin them spin...withe the idle screw turned about 20% of throttle

hey now everyone , my son raced his first race this past weekend at delmarva motorsport park and pulled third on his ltz50...........got to say im one proud poppa.........got to get the quad ready for the next event in the six race series............the quad right now is set up with; ltz90 cdi , 3 rollers out, 80 main jet and 22.5 pilot on vp mr9 race gas (87 octane oxygenated race gas can run bigger jets) shaved .015 and slightly ported head , modified stock pipe , modified stock air box with twin air filter..................i just found tonight that the ltz stock air box even drilled full of holes wont flow any air, i took the lid, filter, and backfire screen out and let joe ride around the yard big difference in top end. so i just ordered the k&n filter and fmf pipe..................ill let everyone know what i think of the pipeshould be here and on by the weekend

Hey Jeff to adjust the air/fuel mixture, raise the idle up pretty good and adjust the mixture screw. The idle will go up as the mixture gets better. Adjust to its peak rpm and then lower the idle back down and your golden.

Going back to a 48T sprocket from Sprocket Specialist, yah they didn't have the new chain pitch for 06 and up in their records. The 05's came with a 420 pitch (correct me if I'm wrong because they were the 2 strokes....) 06 and above now have a 415 pitch. Yes, they sent me one for a 420 originally, but sent me the correct one later. (it's vertally the same sprocket just the teeth have been shaved on one side). Also, you Will need a longer chain. You will be 7 links short with the original. I purchased an MSR Regina 110T chain and it's cut at 87 links, plus the master (88). I haven't tried the quad yet because I'm finishing up painting the rims black. But I hope this helps the same sand issues for us.
