ltz50 quad no power

I've experienced the same issues in the sand. Once at a stop, and with a little incline, the tires just don't spin. Once it gets going though it's great, but we'll see. I'll let you know. May have to do a Pismo run, Glamis is warming up!

Going back to a 48T sprocket from Sprocket Specialist, yah they didn't have the new chain pitch for 06 and up in their records. The 05's came with a 420 pitch (correct me if I'm wrong because they were the 2 strokes....) 06 and above now have a 415 pitch. Yes, they sent me one for a 420 originally, but sent me the correct one later. (it's vertally the same sprocket just the teeth have been shaved on one side). Also, you Will need a longer chain. You will be 7 links short with the original. I purchased an MSR Regina 110T chain and it's cut at 87 links, plus the master (88). I haven't tried the quad yet because I'm finishing up painting the rims black. But I hope this helps the same sand issues for us.
Sprocket Part# 415-48 ( NOT 483-48)</end quote></div>
Thanks for posting the part number. I assume that's a Sprocket Specialist #.
Be sure to let us know how that new 48 toother works.

Well I put the rims back on today, adjusted the chain on the new 48T sprocket from Sprocket Specialist and YES there is a difference! You would think that with such a big jump it would be too low......NOPE. 48T is perfect (for my son). It doesn't seem to have lost too much top end, (though I know it did), but it has that little punch when you hit the throttle going down the street. At a stop, it does accelerate quicker, and has a better continuous pull than the 37T, winding out to right before it hits the rev limiter (the 37T would hit the rev lim and sputter, but it doesn't with the 48T), which is where I know I lost some of the top end, but it's STILL quick enough.
The real test is in the sand, but I'm sure there will be an improvement on the track.
I WOULD recommend it with what I've experienced thus far, but again, the real test is in the sand.........

I think you are saying that the motor doesn't sputter when it hits the rev limiter. Am I correct? I can't imagine that the motor would not be reaching the limiter.
In my opinion the 48 tooth sprocket should not be too low. The 37 tooth sprocket is just way to high.

I have the first Ctracing cdi box which only revs to about 8000. Now they have a new box reving all the way to 9500rpms, does anyone have this new box how does it work, and do you think it's worth it.....
I'm going post some videos by Monday with the following mods LTZ50 ctracing intake, exhaust &jet kit, clutch kit with the black springs set-up and the first cdi box with 8000 revs.... This thing is scary fast but my daughter is rippin it up...
Raceway Park NJ May 3rd youth quad race
Before I bought the ctracing clutch kit i removed the three rollers...The clutch kit comes with six rollers weighing 5grams each in case anyone wants to thrill their stock rollers out instead only using the three roller method....

I finally got a chance to test the Z-50 with it's new pipe, stock jetting and stock airbox. I had my 5 year old son drive up some inclines that the bike previously stalled on. It did climb some of the inclines but not all.
The K&N filter should be here tomorrow. I'll install that and get the #75 jet in and report back.
After I test the bike with the new filter, pipe and jets I'll pull three rollers. I really want to do one step at a time to see where the gains are coming from.
In conclusion the pipe alone does add a small amount of low end power. It sure sounds good too.
