Default ltz50 quad no power

I think I would get the piston kit and see from there what I would do but at their prices it's probably not worth it... Better off just getting that DDR quad and call it a day...

This is what I was looking at when I was trying to find the AIR/FUEL screw on the carburetor http://alpha-sports.com/satv/2006/2006%20LTZ50/02.htm I saw the #25 but when i checked that when i saw that blob didn't think to remove it, lucky u guys already tore the thing down...

Just got back from Sand Mtn over the weekend any I can tell you I spent a lot less time jumping off my quad to go help my sons LTZ get moving in the dunes. Since the last trip I installed the Dynatek CDI and removed three of the rollers. The little 50 did a heck of a lot better and there were a couple of others in camp with stock LTZ50's asking what I had done to ours. It is still running pretty rich at 4000ft elevation. I have yet to touch the carb or intake. Next mod will be an aftermarket airfilter and jets. Does anybody know what size main jet to run at around 4000ft?</end quote></div>

This was in the exhaust pipe instructions that I received from CT Racing.

"Install the #75 main jet and the #22.5 pilot jet. These specs are for 75 degrees at sea level. As a rule of thumb, lean one jet size for every 2000 feet of elevation. Richen the jetting for every 20 degrees colder in air temperature."

My daughters ltz 50 will hardley run with the choke off. It has less than 5 hours on it. I was going to rejet the carb, but it has #58.5 main jet and 4 shops have told me that the smallest they can get is a 70. i have taken the spark arrester out in hopes that would help. Any ideas??

Thanks, Greg

Ours ran much better after a tank or two of gas. It was like night and day. Maybe yours will improve.

I like the fact that the ltz50 had little levers and it was real easy to handle... She was just turning 6yrs. at the time and it seemed like the best choice... Also I never thought she would able to handle something so fast or want to jump but she's all about getting some air and speeding... Now she going to be 7yrs. and it looking like this will be the bikes last yr...

Allen from Ct said there working on piston kit and some front A-arms should be ready next month....

Other than that this quad is done. I like that Apex 70 quad, is that a good quad??</end quote></div>

these motors arent as simple as pulling the jug and replacing the piston, you have to completely pull it apart, separate the case and take out the crank/rod/piston assembly out as a whole...............i dont know if its worth going to high compression as this head dont have the head ports to truly be a racer, save yourself time and money and shave the head .015

Yeah check that idle, it may be too low.

Whats up guys?! I have been kicked off the forum for a few days due to my large author pic! I guess the moderators sent me emails but I didnt get one until I checked my spam folder! They were changing it to a generic one but I just kept changing it back thinking it was a fluke! Oh well, Im back now!

You should be able to change the piston without splitting the case
