i can start it up and it runs really good for about 3 minutes, then it starts poping and doesnt have any power. if i let it cool it will run good again for about 3 more min. could the problem be the cdi getting hot and malfunctioning. or maybe the pick-up?

 

could be ,it could also be that your sucking all the gas from the carb faster than it can fill

 

check your spark plug. black fuel white air. then we'll try help/fix it maybe.

 

well its not the fuel, took fuel line off at carb fuel pours out the hose,drained the entire tank. we'll pull the plug tonite to check it( black/ white).not the vent hose.

 

are you located anywhere northeren il? if close I have a good cdi that we can check.

 

check the ground wire going to the cdi mine did the same thing i repaired the connectoin and fixed for a year now

 

what year is the bike?

 

its a 2005, ive checked fuel (cleaned carb) , stator, and all the connections. the plug is black but the center elecrtrode is a grey ...... i ordered a new cdi monday so maybe i'll get to ride it this weekend !! if not i'll ride my shee i guess !!

 

well guys, i got my cdi in the mail today and that was the problem, i bought a new procom off ebay 79.95, installed it today and got to ride all day in this nice weather were having !!!!!! thanks for everyones advice !!
