Of course, now we know where all those stereotypes about Alabama come from.

This is not a flame just info.

Z400fan, the original turbos and superchargers were built to feed the first diesels. These diesels were 2-stroke and air had to be forced in. Turbos did not just reinvent the diesel industry.

I know turbos didn't reinvent the diesel engine. After all I do have an F-250 Powerstroke and that is one bad **** mother. Yet turbos did help the marine and industrial diesel, adding more power to a relatively weak engine. But besides that, I wanna see a turbo for a Z. Come on, someone develop this!!

Like I said in my other topic... "Tudors Performance" is working on a turbo for the Z.
I will see Jeff @ Tudors this week. I will ask him about it.

Z400fan, that changes things since you own a powerstroke. I have a 92 ford F250 (before turbos), a 96 F350 powerstroke (with help from a Banks kit OMG) and a 99 F250 powerstroke (awesome). Sorry for any hostility in my last post.

Everyone around me seems to think I drive Powerjokes just because everyone else is buying them now. I understood your post saying that everyone buys new diesels because of the turbo. Every male in my family (dad, uncles) has driven ford diesels since mid 80's. One uncle is about to roll 400,000 original on a 88 F250 and it has had a ROUGH life.

I have a 2.3 turbo from a svo mustang if you want to put it on your Z. Should be big enough.

Yeah AlkyBurninX, my 2002 FORD F-250 POWERSTROKE, Is quite cool. Once that thing spools up, nothing can stop me, except a 5 ft. thick reinforced concrete wall. And with the racing chip I put on the engine computer it really hauls **** (hate not being able to use @$$). I raced an IROC Camaro here in El Paso, kid was taunting me, revving up his little chevy, poor bastard, beat him nasty at the local street the kids use to race.

Well, since we're talking turbo'ed diesels here, I gotta 600hp CAT with 2200ft lbs of torque with a 13 speed in my '02 Frieghtliner Columbia.........It'll do close to 120mph, whether I'm empty at 34,000 pounds, or fully loaded at 80,000. Boys, it's an awful lot like fun.......Latah.....
