Baja 500: A stripped down Can-Am 800 finished, behind a field of Honda 450R's.

If anybody needs proof that THERE IS A REPLACEMENT FOR DISPLACEMENT, this is it! It's all about the weight/power ratio, not just raw horsepower! (The little Honda makes 120 horsepower per liter, by the way!)

Seems to me, that this stripped down Outlander, is pretty close to what the Renegade is going to end up being (????).

I don't think there's such thing as perfect sport/ute because you'll always end up sacraficing something....But I would definitely look into a really good one b/c I get tired of just riding a pure ute all the time...like my KQ. They may call the KQ a sport/ute...but it isn't...it is a utility ATV plain and simple. I can't really just go buy a sport quad because I need a ute sometimes..but it would be nice to be able to just get done towing a 1000lb trailer and then go hit 10ft jumps.
IMO for my KQ or any UTE to be a TRUE sport ute it'd have to---
-Be 450-500lbs instead of 600lbs
-Have a manual 5 spd. tranny instead of Automatic belt driven
-Have the ability to jump..so most likely be chain driven
-Have a much better suspension that can handle the jumps...maybe SRA instead of IRS..or maybe something like the Outlaw.
But still problems arise...and the ATV would end up being a mediocre ute and a mediocre sport.

Compromises........

It would also be much better in Mud than any sport and MUCH better at the sport side of things than the lumbering utes. Those are compromises I, personally, would make.
