Does anyone know how the "wind" situation has been at Pismo this time of year? Is it really windy there now? We'd like to go sometime soon again, but don't want to drive all the way up there to be completely blown out by the wind again. Last time it was so bad, we couldn't do anything but sit inside the RV the 2nd day and wound up leaving early.

GG, My family and I will be there the 24-26th Your welcome to come by

LJ, We'll miss you by a day

Ridinfolks, we were there 3 weeks ago, during the week, the weather was gorgeous and NO wind Went back Father's Day weekend and the wind was blowing, but we have been in worse. To me, the wind is at it worst April/May. MWQ just got back, maybe he'll post again IIRC, he said the wind was bad. When it's like that we usually go to town, then around 6pm, it calms down and is nice

Was there for the 4th, the wind wasnt bad at all. DaBeech was out there Monday and he said the weather was nice. I dont really mind the wind all that much, makes the dunes like glass

It was extremely windy every day 7-6 thru 7-9. I left at 10:00 am on the 10th.

Heading over the first weekend in August 8/5-8/7. Splitting time between 2 groups. One down around Pole 5-6. The other by Sand Highway.

If it's windy, just head for the back of the dunes. A little better windwise, and as DQ says...it's glass.

I'm jealous, my mom and her husband are going up there Saturday.....I have never been there, but I really can't complain since Glamis is 2.5 hours away. Just months off.

If you ride Glamis, you'll probably be disappointed by the dunes at Pismo, and how small it is (1500 acres). But you're on the beach, which brings it's own entertainment at high tide. hehehe
