Rockman.. I saw a video on the N. Idaho ATV'ers entitled "ironbutt"...it was a winter ride from wolf lodge to Avery. What trail is that? How do you access it? Thanks.

That was over numerous trails and roads. The entire route is over 250 miles. You have lots of choices on which way to go. My best advise is to stop by the Forest Service and purchase a Travel Plan (Map). It will show you all the different roads and trails you can use to get there and back.
That ride was in February of last year (or the year before). Anyway there wasn't much snow in the mountains then and it made it possible. It really depends on the snow pack and more importantly on the condition of the snow. If the conditions are right then you do it....if you have the right set up and technique.

I like camping along the creek upstream from the Honeysuckle campground. You can camp free, and usually find a spot with nobody else around.
I didn't go on the ride today due to having two teenagers with me who did not want to ride in the downpour. I should have left them home. We got to Post Falls for fuel, and it was raining hard with no sign of letting up soon, so we turned around and headed home. I bet there wasn't much dust today

The ride Saturday was cancelled. A dozen or so quads showed up, but I guess it was really coming down up there, so everybody pu... I'm mean they decided not to ride.
OK Ragged, what did you get? You update that 760 already??
A bunch of the club is camping in the Berlin Flats area up Shoshone Creek. We'll be a ridge or two farther north up Gordon Creek.

Got tired of waiting for you huh? I guess the 330 will be easier to tow, it's probably only 7 or 8 hundred pounds.

You can get to the honeysuckle campground several ways. I think the easiest may be to go the Fernan route. If you stop at the ranger station they can give you a map. You go past the lake, up the hill and just keep following the road. Go past the rifle range, past the big parking lot, and just keep going. Eventually the road turns to dirt, but the dirt part is almost wider and better than the paved part for some reason. The dirt part starts at the top of the hill, and then you wind on down the other side and if you just stay on the main road, you will come to the Honeysuckle campground. Go past the campground and cross the creek. The bridge is right by the campground. Cross the creek and turn upstream/left. There is tons of places to camp all along there. You are not far from Horse Heaven here. It's pretty easy to find with a map.
I would be glad to ride with your 760, that is if you haven't gotten so sick of it that you sell it once you ride with Pastor on his 800. 800 is cool, 760 isn't
