Default Exhaust pipes stuck!!!!

I have big gun header and slip on pipes, they were clamped on together, and now they wont come off. We got the clamp off and pulled the exhaust out when we took the engine out, but the engine is back in now, and the pipes are still connected. There is some brown residue (sp?) around where the pipes come together. SEEMS LIKE ITS GLUED!!!! any suggestions??? We've tried muscle and heat allready.

On a side note. Put a little anti-sieze on the slip joint and you won't have that problem next time.

What type of anti-sieze do you use? I tried that once and it made a mess. When I fired it up the anti-sieze melted and dripped out of the joint.

I would try using an oil filter wrench on each side of the stuck joint and crank it in opposite directions. Try using those elastomer banded wrenches and you will produce an incredible amount of torque to break free the gunk. The elastomer bands should protect your pipe and silencer from cosmetic damage while trying this. Good luck.

The WD40 with me and my brother both pulling seperate ways worked out... took 10 minutes of work. Got the pipes back on si its too late to put the anti-sieze on, ill have the pipes off again in like 4 weeks to port and polish the head.
