well put, your hardest ? shouldn't be what cam grind or piston combo to use but what builder will give me a better bang for my buck. thats way we stay in bussiness, to do the customer the best job we can.

i had 20x10x10 10 paddle extreme, and everyone of my friends told me on this post to dump those haulers and get 22x11x8 7 paddles so i sole my 10 paddles on ebay took a huge hit on the cost, and bought the 7 paddles. I got them yesterday from rocky mountain atv, and ill let you know how they hook up, less padles is supposed to give you more power on the top end. i run in to a problem with those 10 paddles extreme, they launch so hard that it eats my clutch and i have to replace it about once a year. air down , and make sure your gearing is right or else the switch will be point less.

yup, reason why your good old ultra-lights hook much harder is the way they are constructed. A standard hauler is a flat trie with some paddle on it so everytime the paddle digs into the sand it wont have any forward motion until the next paddle grabs. An ultra light is a "balloon" tire so while the paddle is not in the sand/dirt it still grabs with the carcass of the tire.

That and they weigh about 9 lbs instead of 20...lol

Scooby, you have a setup problem if you cant hook your bike up with anything less then a 14 paddle UL. Its not only hurting you in the mid range it is also killing you in the upper rpm. If i can hook a 200hp banshee that weighs 310lbs with 12 paddles, you can do it with less.

Dabeech you are right on about your anology.

I run 21" 6 paddle haulers on my YFZ and they are night and day over the 8 paddle..That 21" carcass is such a nice donut shape.. no flat tire shape at all. Too bad Skat doesn't make them anymore due to Nanking not supply the carcass.

DaBeechMan, Here's a (not so great) pic of the DS launching with the 14 paddle 25x12x9 Extreme Superlites. The angle of the roost coming off the tires is an indication of how optimum or non-optimum the hook up is. The angle is near 45 degrees which seems to be where you'd want it. Notice I haven't even traveled one quad length yet in the photo. Anyway's this is getting a little off topic, private message me to discuss further.
