Default Best dune tire size

Hi, new to the forum. Been trying to find a correct size for the tire. I have Yamaha raptor 700 it comes stock with Front AT22x7-10 Rear AT20x10-9.. There hasnt been any real direct answers on what the proper size would be for use out in the dunes. About to head to glamis in november and really want the correct size. Last time i went i had some used 22x11-12Rs that i got on offer up. The ride was good but i felt maybe with the correct size and some front ones i'd probably have a better time out there. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Not many peeps in here dune I guess..I have a set of Maxxis dune tires. I think they are 8 paddles. I'm told that they are heavy. For what it matters, I'd do just like you are thinking, just pick a set. If I remember correct, scat trak haulers were popular.
The tire size you borrowed is only 1/2 inch taller than the stockers. I'd run the stock size (the 9" rims) and I wouldn't go taller. Most liked the straight across paddles.
Been a while since I been to the dunes.
What is making you think the tires were not performing like you'd want?

Scat traks have a heavy price. Almost double what im willing to spend. I honestly think i forgot to deflate my front tire. I would see my brother just take off he had all 4 tires for sand and i just didnt have the confidence that my bike wouldnt throw me off it if i tried hauling how he took off. I think im just going to grab a set.
ITP Sandstar Front Tire22x8-10 (2)
ITP Sandstar Rear Paddle TireRight / 20x11-9

Thats about as close as i can get it, what do you think? Think that will ride nicely? Same tire as my offerup just maybe smaller. Seems as close to stock as i could get it. I do have an intake on my bike but im sure that doesnt help me too much in the power department.
But thanks for the reply i really appreciate it.

I think that'll work just fine.
Maybe your brothers machine isn't set up properly. Mine wasn't. My 250R is set up for MX and TT racing., which doesn't require massive compression. The peeps with high comp motors took off rather normal. I had to literally rev it up and dump the clutch. Guys that took my machine for a ride looked down like something was wrong. It was faster but take off sucked.
My theory: the more power = the more dune tires are needed. Took my son on a Suzuki LT230e (low power) he went everywhere on wore out stock tires.

Sand Stars are great tires. I have them on my LTR 450 and my YFZ 450. With the Raptor 700 I had I went down 1 tooth on the front sprocket and up 2 on the rear. That will give you a lot more bottom end for the power loss you get in the sand.

Going down in gearing. That's good advise IMO.
