I disagree.... the service contract works for some people.
Some people won't turn a wrench on their quad. Let alone their car. So a service/warranty contract is good for some ... key word here being "some" people.
I'd never buy one for an "OFF-ROAD" vehicle... but that's me. And I work on all my own equipment.
My sister just bought an '05 X out the door for $7000 and a '4yr warranty' for $650. (here in San Diego).
Not too bad from what I'm hearing out there.

You got me Johnny .. Thats a valid point ! Perhaps I should revise my statement ... ahemm.... The "Service Contract" is most definitely a convience, however its at an inflated price. In addition to that It requires you to take you quad the to dealer whos services are also overpriced and quite often incomplete.
Im biased on this subject and have had more bad dealings with the dealers which is why I feel the way I do. I guess I would be off If I said that people should look very carefully into one of those programs since they have more hidden crap in there than they lead on to.... buyer beware.
But hey, like I said before .. you make a good point and a valid one at that ! Maybe when Im 60 and my hands dont work so well Ill see things a different way.
