Default TM48 VS LECTRON 48

Ron Woods dosent have a spring kit for the TM, says you need to remove the pump and that softens the throttle, I obought a Twister but im going to order some springs from someone esle, I have taken all the spring measurements and have started looking into a 1/3 less spring rate.

Default TM48 VS LECTRON 48

I like to see a test like Jeff and Eric did a few years ago with the TM45 and Lectron46, but this time with dual 39FCR's and dual 38 Lectron's. AZ you were there. Have each guy tune until he say's that's it on his prefered carb. I'd throw in a couple of hundred to find out which set of carb's has the best usable power. This might make for a good reality atv show.....hmmmm. Anyway.</end quote></div>

I remember that well, and HPR had the dyno results posted on their site for quite a while afterward. the 46HV made 1 HP more than the TM45 and the curves were closely similair, more attributed tp the extra 1mm of bore diameter than anything. If that does not prove the lack of performance difference between the two type then I don't know what will.

Lots of drag racers attest to the Lectron, and likewise lots like the TM, it will be infinitely debated but drags set aside on a strictly all around bike built for trails and sand fun in the big bowls my vote will always be a TM. My TM45 is now 8 years old and has thousands of miles on it - the slide has been lifted up and down hundreds of thousands of times man, and still works like new (all this with an easy thumb pull too by the way). No way I mean no way can that be said for any lectron, not the way their slides are constructed.

Well you are right about that, no Lectron can state that run time because they have not been around that long. I have 650 Viper's old Lectron48 on my Brother's bike, and I have a used one on my bike. They still work just like new and no problems at all. And we put a weekend a month of dune time on them so 1000s of miles are on them also. I will let you know more when it does get to the 8 year mark

And Hightower, don't take that wrong. I bow down to you when it comes to the TM... and I know you know your stuff. I am just trying to say that my experience with the Lectron's on 3 DS's at this point has been very good.......Well Eric's version at any rate...
