Maybe you know more about the CDI in the link than is specified. Do you know that it is DC powered? I wonder why MotoPartsMax didn't specify this critical parameter.
Turned out to be a AC powered CDI.

I need to find a aftermarket DC CDI any ideas? The numbers on the original CDI is 30400-PVA1-900

Thanks

Search for "DC Casoli Performance CDIs".

AC powered ones are usually blue, while DC powered ones are usually gold.

I have no experience with these, so search diligently, and review all the the search input before buying .

I got a CDI from ooRacing.

OORacing - performance monkey bike, pit bike, madass, zoomer, dirt bike components - CDI 4 pin D/C no limiter 14000 (Powered by CubeCart)

Wired it in, Runs great and starts everytime.

Hey guys,

I know this thread is old but wanted to chime in and share that this absolutely works properly on the 2008 KFX 50 when using the different pinout on the CDI. I installed this model:

D111-HYCDI

Which is a Chinese CDI on our 08 KFX 50 and did the re-pinning mentioned above and it worked perfectly. In addition to repairing the quad, it's actually way more throttle responsive and does indeed seem to rev higher than the stock unit.
