Okay i cleaned the jets, bowl, and the floats. Put it all back together. I kept the rear plastics off because I though I should test her so I don't have to take them back off again if it doesn't work. So went to start it and it wouldn't start, then i rem to turn fuel petcock back on, thus puting fuel in the bowl. Tried her again with choke and without it several times. I came to the conclusion that the when I tried to give it gas it died right away, though it would idle. Its still idleing a bit fast but nothing like the other day. My question is what did I do wrong and why is it not working correctly???

my neighbor said that the seal might be shot on the carb between the bowl and the rest of the carb. He said to get a replacement seal or the seal stuff in a tube and i got some of that to try it out

For the idle Sounds like the choke may not be closing all the way. I would also look at the jets and clean the ends out with some thing small. I had some of the same things going on with my lt230s a small wire around the end of the jets along with a little carb cleaner and she runs great. I uesed a few strands off the end of a 18 Gauge copper Wire i had in the shop. You don't need much and you don't want to bore the jets out you just want to clean the end of any build up.

@snowracer

Do you always turn the petcock off when you shut the machine off?

yea i did take the jets out and got a little wire from a spool we have and pushed it through the jets like when you clean the barrel of a rifle, thus getting most of the junk. Used quite a bit of carb cleaner too. I got some junk outa them but not very much.
