Default 85 to 88 Suzuki LT230S Quadsport help.

I have no problem tearing this down to crank. I will set the tie rods aside as well. i know that this magneto cover has been repaired. I also have my spare which I personally repaired. i also know that this one has the original shifting mechanism on it. I wonder if that is worth good money.

I don't know,,, I think I read here that most guys were trying to get away from the original shifter. Unless someone is trying to do a complete restore.... I think it would cost around $100 to get a brand new one. $45 for the shifter, $38 for the little lever, and maybe $10-$20 for all the little parts. http://www.alpha-sports.com/sp...art_number=25600-22A00

Notice its welded on, lol. I didn't do that, it came that way. I like it that way, but my buddy likes the stock one better. He hates mine.

Check out the steering stem when you get it. If it hasn't been welded, then it hasn't broke yet and is still straight. They ALL break! Gforce pulled his off riding in the snow last winter. I just spent hours n hours out in the garage cutting mine apart and welding it straight again. If you get a straight one on that new quad, it could be worth something. Its a bitch to weld them straight again. Everytime you weld, it bends a little. And if the steering stem bushings are good, those could be worth a little. I can't find replacement new ones. I'm in the process of making something that will work for mine.

If the mag cover doesn't leak oil, I guess that's good enough... Better than what he's got now. He's got a wife and 5 kids and can't afford much.

I'm starting to get excited! I got the steering stem straightened out, got my +5 a-arms finished up, got the +4 beefy swingarm ready to go, and have my new zero offset stock type douglas rims for the front with tires mounted. Just have to put it all together and I'll have a frame waiting on an engine. I might have to get someone to tow me around the yard so I can see how rides. yes i know the steering stem is straight, I replaced hie tie rod ends when I worked on it for him. the bushing is worn, but not sloppy yet. I will obviously get a better look soon. I will get you some pics of my spare. it had three small chunks taken out of it and i very carefully jb welded them on one at a time, waiting till the next day to put the next one on. i then sanded it all down smooth and now have a spot to fill in and the resand a little. this was a bitch, but it is a working easy to mount spare. I will get some pics before I finish it up. The only non original thing on this 230 is the reverse lever. he put one on that was a shifter for something that has an angle on it going towards the front a little. he was nervous about reaching so close to the sprocket to use reverse. I use my heel, he just never got used to doing it that way.

HEY IS ANYONE HERE BUT RANDY AND I ANYMORE!!!!!

What year is that 230 you're getting?

As you can see in the pic, I cut the "guard" off the footpeg so I could get my heel into the reverse lever. Did you know the 250s reverse lever goes the opposite way? I like the 230 one better. I don't know why they changed it.

I think everybody is working 2 or 3 jobs n don't have time to post. I don't know...
