Well, check the rod and call vince tomorrow and see what he thinks. He's a friendly guy.

Those pics scare me too, I think my 230 is on its 21 year old rod still. I didnt notice any major play when I did the top end though, and I'm still on stock bore, just a fresh hone.

I think they're kinda like an old VW, just keep oil in them and they'll keep goin! Till you start messing with them too much!

I guess that is true with any engine you mess with though, cause and effect.... "If I build this up.. what will it put strain on?"

Let me know what you find out. Suzuki decided to beef the rod up for the 250 version in 1989. The new rod is longer and fatter, but its only a .060 over 230 (246cc). I take that to mean the 230 rod is "under-designed".

Getting the bug to start diggin again PG. Haven't done anything since July. I think its only rained a couple times since then too. Makes sense... since I'm not digging, it doesn't rain, LOL.

Hmm..well theres nothing loose in the crankcase...mayb i was jus imagining it, or it was the chain. But im thinkin ill replace the rod later since im keeping the stock bore and piston.

Correction: .080 over is 243cc. The 250s is a 246cc... So, its .100 over. Sorry. For so long me and my buddy rode together that I always thought we were pretty well matched on the cc's.

Now he just bored his 250 out .040 over and has the 260 kit everybody else is paying thru the nose to get.... Well, 255 kit anyway.

Well, if you're keeping the stock bore and compression, maybe you should hold off on really big carbs and ports. Maybe just do the velocity porting motoman was talking about a call it good. What do you think?

Hmm, how much would the bigger carb, and ports hurt on stock bore and compression?
