85 to 88 Suzuki LT230S Quadsport help.

Beware Blaster Shifter Linkage. I bought one for an 87 brand new ($15 including rubber). The spline count was different. Ones fine and the other is course. Dont ask me because off hand I dont remember which is which, but there is a distinct difference. The shifter I think is the perfect length for me. I ride in alot of muck and wear big boots. I find the stock shifter is a bit short to get my big boot under in a hurry. If I ever find a blaster shifter with the correct spline count to match my suzuki, then I'll be able to know for sure.

Shifter. Linkage. Semantics. It'll fit, I got lots of tools to garuntee a snug fit. It'll just never come off again. The shaft diameter is the same. The spline count is totally out to lunch.

Hi all, I joined las year and kinda forgot about it along with letting my 230s sit for a year. The problem i had when i parked it was after jb welding the mag cover i took it out for a ride against my dad's 680 rincon after about 15 minutes of riding i noticed oil leaking from what looked like the exhaust or head. Has anyone ever heard of this? My guess is bad gaskets so I was planning on tearing it down do i need to buy a gasket set or will rtv work?

There is a bolt or 2 at the top of the engine on the valve cover that requires rtv or it will leak oil. Not quite sure which of the bolts need rtv and which don't, but I can look in the manual if you think this is your problem.
Head gasket is the only gasket you need. Everything else gets rtv... very sparingly!
