basiclly what you are doing is slipping the belt with lighter rollers letting the motor rev more before tring to move.

You are not going to change the power of the motor. The motor is what it is a dog.

I tried it, it does seem to make it take off better but still has no power when it sees a grade.

Even the sprockets didn't change the power of the motor it just changed the power needed to make it move.</end quote></div>

I don't recall anyone claiming that clutch or gearing changes are going to magically allow this, or any motor to make more power/TQ. WHy would it?? All you are doing with clutch and gearing changes is allowing the motor to run at a higher RPM where it is naturally making more power/TQ. This holds true for any gas motor. Nothing magical about that....

With 49cc's to work with it really takes a combination of parts to see any real results. For the least amount of money spend to acheive the max result I am going to try. Lighten the clutch "better take off", cdi, "more rpm", Air filter and Jet kit. "more mixture" That should cost me around $235. plus tax. I may have to go with a sproket as well but will hold off untill I fit the rest of the pieces. $300. for a tuned pipe I do not think will make much of a change for the money. I found the ct racing offered ditech cdi it think it is called on e-bay for $178.00 and will use that one instead of the one for the 90 unit. I will let you know how it works out as far as top speed and launch speed.

That would be great to find out if the Dyna cdi is worth the money and a bigger exhaust header would help Im sure ?
I have also found that some of my rollers have a slightly flat edge on them so I will have to replace them too.

Anyone have the cdi box from CtRacing because I just called up to order mine and they said "call back monday there're still working out all the bugs"

What the hell; I thought this has been on their website since late July and still working out bugs, makes me a bit nerves for $194 bucks.... I hope this is gonna work better than the ltz90 cdi box with the bike but I'm tried of waiting...

I forgot who has the cdi box from the ltz90 but can you punch it right outta the gates or do you have to ease into the throttle.. If you have to ease into it 1 little bit I rather wait...

:there is a few mods that you can do,if you want to spend a few more bucks.I purchased a 2006 LTZ50 for my 6 year old, and was surprised at how gutless it is.Go to ctracing.com, they have a CDI box for about 200.00 bucks which does help out a little(about 2000 rpm). They also have a jet/air filter(K&N)/and pipe for almost 400.00, ihave not tried that yet though. There is a spacer in the clutch kit that can be removed fairly easily which the owners manual illustrates.this will allow it to get a little more overall speed. The manual says that you need a special tool to do this, but I didn't need any thing special.Good luck, if you decide to buy the jet/air/exhaust,please let us know the rusults.<span class="FTHighlightFont"></span ft>

FYI,I have read those pages, what's your point?I had only read 1 or 2 of those when I posted. Thanks for asking though. If anyone finds a good combo of roller weights and spring, will you post specific details please? I really want to find a solution to this without getting rid of the quad for a different one.

I didnt mean to come across nasty but we know CT Racing has a Dyna CDI - we know taking out the spacer gives it a higher top speed and we all want to turn this turd into something it should have been from the factory so at the moment there is discussions on amongst other things - the roller weights.

Thanks for replying,I am not sure about where to look for these parts, and I don't want to spend the money on the other stuff quite yet.The CDI box definitly made a differance, not quite $200.00 bucks worth though.I would like to know some details about the LTZ90 CDI box like what year, do I have to butcher the plastic to put it in?Anyhow, I'm sure we will find the correct peices of the puzzle if we keep at it.talk at ya later.
