Default ALL LOUISIANA RIDERS!!

So far I belive we have about 8-10 people goin for the trip to frt polk. I'll try to look for yall out there. I will probably be in either my white chevy z71 pulling a trailor with my yfz450 or riding with my cousin in his whit ford f-150 4x4. We are getting there on friday and probably leave sat night or sunday not sure yet. I went to the dunes in MS this weekend too that daryl was talking about. Its a lot better than payin the outrageous prices LA dunes and not crowded like it is there. We had a lot of fun and any of you guys that want to should try to make the next trip with us on mardi gras.

Default ALL LOUISIANA RIDERS!!

Hey Justin,
Tentative plans are us leaving here Friday afternoon around 330-4p. I will be in the White Crew Ford Dually and a 33ft Tahoe Toyhauler.
I have to hook up with Ronny and Byron, cause I have NO idea where this place is.

Kraw, if you send over your VIN, I have a good pic of your site, and I will email it to all the deputies at my office, as well as RedCreekOffroad.

Our eyes are peeled here in BR.

Kraw, I dont know if this is even the time to bring this up, because I know better than anybody how it feels to be ripped off... but everybody here should be told this....YOUR HOMEOWNERS INS DOES NOT COVER YOUR QUADS. YOU MUST GO TO YOUR INS AGENT AND PURCHASE A VEHICLE POLICY. THEY MUST HAVE A CURRENT PHOTO OF THE BIKE. THEY PREFER TO TAKE THE PICTURES THEMSELVES. SO LOAD YOUR BIKES UP AND DRIVE TO THE AGENT. MAKE THEM GIVE YOU A RECIEPT FOR THE FEW (LESS THAN 100 DOLLARS PER YEAR) IT TAKES TO INSURE YOUR BIKE.Remember, the only thing worse than a thief is an Insurance Agent, they love to take your money, and NEVER tell you all the stuff that is not covered. MY agent told me that while my 5000 dollar 400ex was not covered, he said the 8000 dollar mower that IT WAS LOCKED to, would have been covered if they had taken that... stupid, huh?Kraw, one more suggestion. If you have NOT talked to your agent yet.. when you do, tell him that you used the bike to maintain your yard. (like drag branches up, etc.) They have to cover it if it is used for any home maintenence. Also, and the cheapest insurance of all, if you go to EBAY and search for "driveway alarm" there is a WIRELESS device that works like a motion detector in your house. You can mount it pointed at your bikes and it sets off an alarm in your bedroom or whereever you have the reciever. If you are gone for the night, you can easily drop the reciever off at your neighbors.. I got mine for 14.95 plus shipping.Kraw, THEY WILL COME BACK FOR THE GRIZZLY. If not the same guys, you can believe they will tell their buddies about the bike that they didnt get away with. Either make it steal proof, or move it. It might be 3-9 months, but they will at least come back and see if it is takeable. I ultimately caught the guys that stole my 400ex, because I put a camera attached to a time lapse recorder on my bikes.. I was that pissed. When I caught them on tape, I drove down to the Tv Stations here in Baton Rouge, and had them put on TV. They saw themselves and cut my 400ex into little bitty pieces and burned the red plastic. Ground all of the numbers off, and sold the motor. Nice, huh? Well, I am suing all three involved to get the money back that I lost in my dealings with the insurance company. (They paid me 2450.00, less 500 dollar deductible for a MINT 1999 400ex because that is what the book value was.) Well, this one is long enough and I have to go shave for work.. later guys..Shane

I knew my renters didn't cover. I just never bothered to get it. The rates here are crazy, and I never bothered shopping around. Remember, I reside in Jefferson Parish

I have a kryptonite lock now, the big U one. It's on a railroad chain. I will defin look into a mobile home anchor, but the ground is sooooo soft, they would prob easily rip it up. I am going to get one though

I'm looking into video surveillance now. As soon as we close on this house (we rent it now, going to buy in the next few weeks) I will have an alarm and video installed. Just checking options now. As for the motin light, we are just leaving the light on (good or bad idea?) If a light comes on, no one would notice. No neighbors behind us.

I don't have a garage or anything, they are parked behind the house, locked to the steps. I'm going to look into that wireless alarm for sure.

kraw, those mobile home anchors are like 3 feet long.. and you probably know, it takes two guys just to screw em down into the ground.. they would have to pick your whole quad up and unscrew it.. it would be a mf er.
Ill see if I can find the wireless motion alarm for you on ebay.. and post the link..

Bad, I believe your right. The guy that stole his Raptor probably lives real close to him. More than likely has driven by his house several times and spotted it and then decided to steal it. One of my friends Ds got stolen from his house, they found it one year later and it was less than a block from where it was stolen from. The guy had repainted it and changed a few parts but he never filed off the vin.

I'll definetly look for one of those anchors, that's a great idea, the more I think about it. I already bought a driveway thing off of ebay, did it this morning

The thing about our street is, I'm at the end. Theres a RR track. Not many people "drive by"

btw, 2002 Grizzly 10/20/10, comp w/ 500 deduct is 147 a year from that atv-line.net

We should close on this house next month, then a full security system will be isntalled (planned prior to this happening). Is there like a way to connect your bike to the house alarm? Like, say, a telelphone wire that plugs to itself, around the frame or something, and if the line is "broken", the alarm is activated?

absolutely.. your alarm installer will know exactly what you need. It is a one conductor wire that has a quick disconnect on it, and if it is cut or pulled in anyway, instant alarm. I would still hide it, though, I suspect somebody with a little electronic sense could figure a way to defeat it with a sharp knife and some alligator clips.. I would do it all though. Have them point a weather proof motion alarm down at your bikes from the eaves of the house, and put the wire on too. The trick is guys, make them take alot of time and make alot of racket to get to something. Kraw, if you dont think that it is somebody that rode by your house and basically got lucky and spotted your quads, then you need to rack your brains about anybody at the spillway that you may have given your address. You probably will wind up beating somebodys *** after you find out who has it. My house, you could see the bikes all pulled up when you rode down the side street...
The crooks ultimately admitted (under a little duress, I must confess) that they would just ride around and look for them, and that is how they found mine..

Good luck dude.. dont give up on it yet..
Shane
