Hopefully the road to Signal Pk. opens up soon. Probably do that one the weekend after Memorial Day at the latest.

Had a great time at miami, met BRW, 700quadman,powerstroke01,RD showed up for sat. I will be going back there as soon as I get my radiator fixed. I was having a great time on a single track trail and sideswiped a tree stump that attacked my right radiator.(or possibly it was defending it self from me attacking it) Twisted it and tore the core. It was spewing coolant pretty bad. Luckily it was near camp so I could get it back without doing any more damage.

Signal Pk is about maybe a 40 mile round trip ride to the NW.
Start at Lone Sequoia: Fish Camp Quad
go up 6S24X (that's the road through the campground).
Turn right onto 6S17 (it's not labeled, but it's the one that goes up to Timberloft)
Turn left onto 6S09
Turn right onto 6S62
6S62 turns into 4S04 near Bald Rock
Go to the Wawona Quad
Continue on 4S04 past Summit Campground.
When you cross 5S25, 4S04 goes to the right, go to the road between 5S25 (left) and 4S04 (right).
Take the first left. Follow that up. It's called "Devil's Pk" on the USFS Map. It's just also known as Signal Pk as there is a US Park Service repeater up there for Yosemite.
Great view to the east into Wawona.

Went up to the Northern end of Johnson Valley, near Powerline Road this weekend. It's not my favorite area, but anytime I can go is a good time. Sounds like it was a weekend for things to break and/or get damaged. MWQ's radiator, captlazarou's flat tire and I hit a rock with the right fron tire of my quad and managed to get a bunch of small gravel in between the rubber and the rim. Out of commission, fortunately it happened late in the day. Then of the way out on Camp Rock Road I blem the right rear on my Durango, coincidentally (or not maybe) right after we passed the BLM guy changing a flat on his truck.
We tried to clean the gravel out of my tire last night, no luck, still won't hold air. I guess I'll have to pop the rubber all the way off and clean it out real good.
All in all a good weekend though, maybe Randsburg next week? We keep planning on going there and never quite make it. BTW where is this "Miami" everyone is talking about?

The only Miami I know about is in Florida...
Isn't there a way you can put an inner tube in those tires?
At least you got to ride. My frame isn't even finished yet. I went for a ride on the sportbike.
Saturday was spent humbling seven Harleys out on my Safety Course <grin>. They had a good time. Six out of seven passed.

My husband doesn't care for Stoddard Valley either . . . thinks it's too "boring" and doesn't like the rocks. Maybe we just need to find the better places that Katstoy speaks of.
Did anyone go to Gorman over the weekend? How was it? We're supposed to go there next weekend. I was wondering how badly rutted out the trails are compared to how they used to be, before all the rain. It's a non-kid weekend for us, which makes it more of a relaxing trip.
