The stock shock on my wifes Yamoto 150 had 9/16" of travel and no that isnt a typo. I did some mods.

WOW, that's stiff!! you wouldn't even know it's there. the tires flex more than that!!

It was ridiculous, the spring was setup with about 1/4" of preload too. So it was insanely stiff with basically zero travel. And the tires are pretty stiff too.

I think that type of suspension would only be good for pavement (just swept pavement). That sucks!

From what I understand the early yamotos were concentrating on looks not performance. I mean cmon 9/16 of a inch. Why even bother? But it looked better with a shock on it.

Ah, good to see MWQ make his monthly appearance[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

I would like to someday modify the rear suspension on the LT-160. I don't know how much travel it has, (probably not as bad as MWQ's) However, it does look better with shocks then without.

I saw an '85 LT125 for sale. having a hard time picturing this thing. I think it's bigger than a 160, but with a smaller engine. no shocks or suspension(??). where can i get info on these? specs?
