Went out today and bought the wife a '03 Z400 Now, I need to get rid of hers. Or, maybe I should keep the atv just like Endover does with all his motorize vehicles

i've had a bit of a clunk when i put it in gear, but that's it. ford said don't worry about it. but what yer describing does sound like u-joint. also, we replaced the yoke, which is sorta like a u-joint, but not quite a u-joint. it was iether that or a speedy-sleeve, which was a ridiculously stupid amount of $$ compared to replacing the whole part.
I get the "clunk" when I take off from a stop. And that's it I know what the yoke is, why did you decide to replace that?
Go under your truck and you will see a bearing that the drive line goes thru before it angles down to the rear end. at least with the 96 crewcab it was there. and when you start of it goes clunk. if its that carrier bearing the driveline will jump right there if you wiggle it or lay on the ground beside the truck and have someone start off. you should be able to see it move. if thats the case replace and clunks no more. Bad U-joints generally clunk more than just when you start.

Exactly we've discussed in the past. I know Hoss wouldn't look that good dressed as a transvestite
